You should for sure disable Hybernation if you are using SSD, it's a best practice, in fact here's a great guide to help you optimize your SSD:

As far as Intel Rapid Storage diver to support TRIM, it will be their next release of the software/driver, most likely will be included with the Intel Toolbox, here's a good source:

Welcome!

Long story short, GC works when the PC is in idle mode, so try not to shut down your PC after long hours of deleting/moving files. I have a pair of 510 series in RAID 0 and I've seen the transfer rates go from 990MB/s to 720MB/s, after a couple of nights on and in idle state, the speed was completely recovered.

Also keep in mind that Intel is most likely releasing a TRIM support for RAID 0 in RST 11.5.

Sorry it was a typo, I meant not sure what Chipset this lappy has exactly. The CPU is awesome no doubt.

My BIOS does not have that level of detailed options....

However I do use the on-board GFX when I want to sqeeze extra battery, but I'm usually plugged to the wall with this beast as you can imagine lol

Thanks man! yeah it leaves my desktop in the dust this laptop. As far as power c. I was refering to Ide, of course fully load it's no where near that hehe (would be nice though)

As far as the CPU not sure, I know I have the 2920XM thats about it, it does OC very very nice, with Turbo up to 4.2Ghz is my Max so far but I don't want to push it too hard (no real need)

Ok so it appears that the DIsk Cache was enabled however the Wite-back Cache was not and after enablling it I get much better numbers on 4k Writes:

Compared to (Write-back Cache Disabled)

Now if I can fix my 4 K reads! I know there has to be something left to tweak.... that said this forum was pretty awesome the people that contributed to these two threads have really helped me not just fix my issue but rather learn and understand much more about SSD, thx RickiBerlin, ianpugh and Bannon

Where exactly do you enable Disk Data Cache in? I don't see an option with my Intel Rapid Storage app... is it with the toolbox?

Edit: Never mind is on the actuall array... I found it let me test it.

Yeha RAID 0 is amazing with these Sata 3 drives, I spoke to both an Itel and OCZ tech and they both said that GC is superb on these drives that performance will degrade very very min and over a long time. And if it becomes an issue, you can always do a low level format and back to new

I'm going to ghost my drive and then try updating Intel Rapid Storage and playing with LPM (on and Off)

Sorry I miss read hotpug not hotplug and this is a laptop (M18x) so my BIOS is not as feature rich as the desktop high end motherboards (P67 for example), i do have an extreme processor edition, so it is unlocked.

I'm going to read the Intel SSD Toolbox manual, not sure what it can do for me, I supposed some of the things I did manually? (Turn off defrag, search, indexing, fetch, superfetch, system restore, etc)

Again, because this is a laptop not worried about power consumption, more so with the Intel drives as they are very efficient as you say (.001w iddle, that's nothing lol)

I did not touch the BIOS aside from configuring my memory's timings... I doubt that did it.

2) No, working with an older version looks like, 10.1.2.1004 should I upgrade?

3) Probably, not sure but perhaps the parameters were re[written

4) Didn't do much, just used it to check speeds on my i7

5) What's the hotpug?

6) Any reasons why I would want to turn it on? no right?

I also downloaded Intel SSD Toolbox.

The issue is completely resolved, done over 30 reboots been doing some OC to test the system so there was a lot of rebooting being done.
