In the booth area we will have:

The infamous “vPro Challenge”
vPro demo on MS System Center Configuration Management
vPro demo on MS System Center Essentials
Microsoft Application Virtualization on Intel Architecture
45 nanometer technology discussions
Windows 2008 / Hyper-V on Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors.

Beside the booth, Intel and Microsoft will be jointly teaching a class on Intel vPro systems integration with Configuration Manager 2007 SP1 (Session code: SR32)

Day 1 at MMS - The passion and pure excitement for Intel and vPro is huge. The Pro Challenge last night saw 44 teams battle it out and sparked many great moments at the booth. The SCCM demo area was constantly packed with folks, wanting to better understand the migration process, how and what is different with SCCM vs SMS or the other ISV's, etc The Streamed Computing areas had its own constant flow of people and questions and the 45nm discussions we in-depth and full of enthusiasm. Interesting insights made as I walked around the room and listened to the story's and pitches from other vendors who are working with SCCM, entering into the service and ISV business and even one booth that seem to have a product that somehow was going to use DASH.... and do remote management and "stuff" .... Key theme's were integration, ease of use, Green IT, common single interfaces that are intuitive and most importantly SCCM and vPro at the core!!

As we move into day 2, the Expo floor is again packed and the Intel booth area is buzzing....

We had a total of 120 teams compete in the vPro Challenge and we had some real close competition. The top two teams that competed in the finals had about a one second time difference between them from the semi's, so the competition was defiantly fierce and fun. The finals were great, both teams were excited and both had good times. It was very exciting to watch.

Here's some advice I have for anyone who may participate in a future vPro challenge.

1) Check out all of the demos and talk with the folks at the Intel booth before you compete, you may pick up some valuable tips that could shave precious seconds off your time.

2) Keep cool. Some of the best times came from the teams that didn't try and skip too far ahead, often missing key steps in the documentation and having to go back.

3) Try a pick-up team. It's always a blast to compete with your coworkers and friends, but if you can't get them to play with you, don't let that stop you. Pick-up teams did very well, especially with tip number two, keeping cool, and had some of the best times, often under two minutes.
