Sporadic but recurring connection dropouts on an Intel 6235 wireless adapter

Dear all,

I have the same issues of intermittent sudden connection dropouts as reported by others with the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 Wifi adapter and the Intel Proset 15.x drivers!

My system is a brandnew desktop computer with an Intel i7 3770 Quad-Core CPU, an Intel Z77 chipset, an Asrock Z77E-ITX mainboard, 16 GB of RAM, and Windows 7 64-bit.

Previously, I already encountered the issue with this adapter's predecessor, the Intel Centrino 6230 and only managed to resolve it by going back to an older driver version. If my memory is correct, the Intel Proset 14.x version range worked flawlessly, but the 15.x drivers lead to the dropouts (I always use 64-bit drivers).

These can occur randomly after 5 or after 50 minutes. The adapter suddenly disconnects and won't reconnect to the wireless network unless it is reset. The wireless router itself is fine as there are over a dozen devices from all types of brands that connect regularly to it without any problem at all.

The fact that the problem occurs on two different cards (6230 and 6235) leads me to believe that there is a driver problem.

On the 6235, going back to a 14.x driver does not seem to be an option on the table, because the device seems to be only supported by 15.x versions. I already tried going back from the recent 15.2 version to the previous 15.1.1 (after uninstalling through the device manager), but the problem still persists. Now I just went back to 15.1.0 and it's been ok so far, but i'm not very optimistic.

I have tried different changes in the driver settings but with no success. The problem persists!

Very slow (most of the time) Wifi connection with wifi link 5100

Recently i'm experiencing connection problems with my Acer Aspire 6935G laptop holding an Intel Wireless wifi link 5100 adapter that's giving me trouble connecting at normal speed.

All other laptops using the same AP have no trouble maintaining the maximum available speed (± 16Mb/s) where the Acer now drops to 2Mb/s if i'm lucky. On occasions the speed is up to 16 but does not last long. What might be causing this fenomenon? is there something interfering with the driver/adapter...?

please help! this is very annoying.... :-(

How do I get Bluetooth to work with new N 2230 card?

I recently fitted a new Centrino Wireless N 2230 Wifi and Bluetooth card in my Acer Aspire Timeline X 4820T, running on Windows 8 Pro x64. The wireless appears to be working but the Bluetooth switch remains greyed out. I have installed the correct Intel software, been told by the tool that it's the right software, repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled. Still no Bluetooth. Can anyone help me to get Bluetooth to work?

Hi I've been looking through some of the threads but i cant really find an answer to my issue.

I recently got my self a Dell Inspiron 17R SE and it comes with the Intel Centrino wireless-n 2230.

I cant really do much stuff on the internet or play online games as the internet keeps dropping out.

I have updated the driver and still nothing. I really don't know what else to do any help will be much appreciated.

Centrino Wireless-N 2230 No WIFI; Limited Connectivity; Connection drops

This computer is brand new Dell Inspiron 15R. The WIFI is dropping out repeatedly. I connect for ~10 minutes, but then the connection gets a yellow exclamation point for limited connectivity, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router.

The network card is the Centrino Wireless-N 2230 with the 15.5.6.48 drivers.

I can connect to the Verizon Wireless router for about ten minutes, but then the connection is dropped, and I can't reconnect.

I tried the POWER SAVE trick and it didn't work. I tried the maximum roaming trick, and that didn't work either.

WHAT IS WRONG THIS THESE NETWORK CARDS??

Intel Centrino N2230 lose Wifi connection since Windows 8 upgrade

I upgraded my Asus N76VZ, equipped with an Intel Centrino N 2230 WiFi board, to Windows 8 at the end of last month. Before this upgrade I din't notice any problem with Wifi connexion (I own it since October 8th).

But since Windows 8 is on my PC, I'm losing WiFi connexion 1 to 3 times per day. When the connexion is lost, it is impossible to reestablish it as I have the message "No connection available". If I launch a diagnostic of the board in the Configuration Panel, the connection becomes sometimes available but is lost again a few minutes later. The only way I have is to restart the PC. Then the connection remains stable for a few hours (variable duration).

I searched on Intel site and I found exactly the same symptom here: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/pro3945abg/sb/CS-031631.htm

But as you will see, the problem seems to be corrected with driver 13.2.1.0 and mine is 15.5.6.48. I tried the configuration change described in this page as a workaround, but without effect.

Today, I had the idea to launch the Intel Event Observer utility to capture information. I noticed the connection lost around 16:41. It realy hapened a few minutes before, but not a long time as I was sorting my bookmarks, so I was accessing to internet frequently. The capture's result are at the end of this message.

As you will see there is almost nothing all day long (I started the utility around 10:00 AM). Fire starts at 16:02. There is a first connexion lost at 16:04 but I didn't noticed it, connexion as been re-established without my intervention. The described problem appears at 16:38, but you can see the many messages of authentication between the first (non-noticed disconnection and the noticed one). After this, multiple connections and disconnections are attempts to restart the board using the Windows Control Panel. I finally had to restart the PC.

I hope someone could understand what happens to my system and help me to solve this issue.

Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 conectivity issue!

Hello,

I have a brand new notebook Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E330 with Centrino wireless N 2230 card.

The issue is that my laptop doesen't connect to my wi-fi router at more than 54 Mbps.The router is from my ISP , Huawei HG 655b.

I use WPA2-PSK ,WMM activated, 20/40 Mhz band,also i have another 2 laptops from Toshiba, they both connect to the router at minimum 150 Mbps or 270 Mbps.

So far i've updated to the latest drivers, QOS enable/disable nothing seems to work.

Any ideea what should i try? it's really frustating to have a brand new laptop and not being able to fully enjoy it.

n-6230 wireless driver windows 8

Can't install Windows 8 64bit driver from Intel's driver page for my N-6230 hw. I have a Samsung NP900X3B-A01US laptop.

The file loads, I see the animated progress image but after 5-10 seconds it closes. I rebooted the pc, re-downloaded fresh copy of the driver, ran as admin, ran in W7 mode, XP SP3 mode, etc. Same issue. Tried both 32 and 64bit files. The 32 doesn't even load at all.

Centrino Advanced-N 6235 Stuck in 802.11g mode? at 54Mbits

My 6235 worked fine for a few months and now I noticed that it will not connect at any speed fasted than 54Mbits (based on Windows 7 Network status report). Both 2.4 and 5.2 bands and both on Windows 7 and Windows 8 get the same results. I have another computer that does 802.11n fine and channel bonding with my router so the router settings and securty settings are not the cause! It did work fine a couple of monts ago, I remember is showing upper 200's Mbits.

I changed every setting on the advanced tab and no change. Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Reinstalled Windows 7. I even placed in another computer and it did the same thing only 54Mbits.

Intel 5300 AGN Wireless disconnect problems

Hi all,

I work in a local college where all our student laptops have Intel 5300 AGN wireless cards in them, we are seeing an odd issue where is the laptops battery is completely drained, and the laptop is booted up again the wireless, is turned off if I simple turn it back on with the hotkey the wireless connects and it works. Once the laptop has charge I can restart and put the laptop to sleep but it always connects back to the network.

We use a RADIUS system, I have tried updating to the latest driver and playing with the power saving settings but still has no effect.

Has anyone else come across this?
